University of Glasgow study links excessive social media use to increased smoking/vaping among teenagers.

A study from the University of Glasgow found a link between excessive social media use and smoking or vaping among teenagers. Researchers surveyed nearly 9,000 youngsters, discovering that those spending more than two hours a day on social media platforms were 2.5 times more likely to smoke, and 3 times more likely to vape compared to those using social media for one hour or less. The study highlights the need for promoting healthy online habits for young people rather than imposing blanket bans or overprotection.
