UK delays advanced airport security scanner installation by a year to June 2024 due to supply chain delays and construction issues.

The UK government has postponed the installation of advanced airport security scanners by a year to June 1, 2024, due to supply chain delays and construction difficulties. The new scanners will allow passengers to carry up to two litres of liquid in their hand luggage and eliminate the need for laptops and tablets to be removed from hand luggage. By June 2024, the government aims that half of passengers flying from UK airports will be processed by the new scanners, while financial penalties for non-compliance are being considered.
