TRAI floats consultation paper on 5G auction of new spectrum bands for mobile services.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has floated a consultation paper on the auction of three new spectrum bands (37-37.5 GHz, 37.5-40 GHz, and 42.5-43.5 GHz) for mobile services, seeking stakeholders' views on pricing, validity, and payment terms. This auction will make available 4,000 MHz of spectrum for 5G services in each Licensed Service Area (LSA). The 37-37.5 GHz band is for mobile services, while the 37.5-40 GHz and 42.5-43.5 GHz bands are for mobile and Satellite Gateway links.
