A skier died in an avalanche on Cathedral Mountain near Lake Louise, Alberta, on Friday, according to Avalanche Canada. The solo skier went off the mountain onto a slope known as Cathedral Glades and triggered a size 2.5 avalanche. The victim was not reported missing until late Monday, and a transceiver was found switched off in their backpack. The skier's body was located from the air due to a partially visible ski.
