The Rock River in Moline, Illinois is expected to exceed its flood stage of 12 feet on Thursday, reaching 13.9 feet by Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Davenport. The Mississippi River at Lock and Dam 15 in Rock Island is also expected to crest at 11 feet on Friday. The excess rain and snow have increased ground absorption, reducing water flow into the river.
