Minneapolis fire crews battle a vacant apartment building fire near I-35W, suspecting squatters may have caused it; no injuries reported, but the building collapsed.

Minneapolis fire crews continue to battle a fire at a vacant apartment building, initially reported late Wednesday, with previous reports of people inside during the fire. The building, located near I-35W and south of downtown, had been the scene of at least one previous fire in November. Deputy Fire Chief Staffan Swanson suspects squatters may have sparked the fire. No injuries have been reported, but the entire building has now collapsed.
