Taiwan earthquake causes power outages, building collapses.

Taiwan experienced a 7.2 magnitude earthquake offshore on Wednesday, causing power outages in Taipei, building collapses in Hualien, and triggering tsunami warnings for southern Japan and the Philippines. This was the strongest earthquake in Taiwan in 25 years. Japan issued an evacuation advisory for its southern prefecture of Okinawa, while tsunami waves of up to 3 meters were expected to hit Japan's southwestern coast. The Philippines' Seismology Agency warned residents in coastal areas to evacuate to higher ground.
