NHS watchdog Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) will review patient safety at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow, following concerns raised by 29 consultants about overcrowding, staff shortages, and patient safety issues. HIS previously closed its investigation into the consultants' complaints, but will now investigate the emergency department's leadership, clinical, governance, and operational issues.
