European Congress research shows pre-school children key in Streptococcus pneumoniae transmission to over-60s.

The bacteria can cause severe diseases like pneumonia, sepsis, and meningitis, mainly affecting children under two and the elderly, leading to almost two million deaths worldwide annually.
