CBI repatriates Shokat Ali, a gold smuggling suspect, from Saudi Arabia to India.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in India has successfully repatriated Shokat Ali, a suspect in a gold smuggling case, from Saudi Arabia. Ali, wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), faced an Interpol Red Notice in connection with a case involving the seizure of smuggled gold bars at Jaipur International Airport, Rajasthan in 2020. The CBI's Global Operations Centre worked with the National Central Bureau-Riyadh via Interpol channels to bring Ali back to India from Saudi Arabia.
