Brazil plans to host the COP30 climate summit in the Amazon rainforest city of Belem to promote environmental sustainability and curb deforestation. Tourism Minister Celso Sabino hopes the event will boost Brazil's ecotourism appeal, attracting more visitors to the Amazon and other biodiverse regions. Currently, only 9% of Brazil's tourists are ecotourists, with most visiting for sun and beach.
