Playwright Christopher Durang, known for his satire and black comedy, passed away aged 75 at his home in Pennsylvania. Durang won a Tony Award for his play "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist with "Miss Witherspoon." He was diagnosed in 2016 with a rare form of dementia, logopenic primary progressive aphasia. Durang's plays, like "Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You" and "Baby with the Bathwater," were known for their absurdism.
