32-year-old Lompoc man, Kyle Nelson, was sentenced to 12 years in state prison for two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. The crash occurred in October 2022 when Nelson, under the influence of marijuana, tried to overtake slower traffic and veered into oncoming traffic, killing 19-year-olds Jenna Causby and Dorothy Guthrie. Nelson was out on bail for a different case at the time of the accident.
