71-year-old Janet Emmett was fatally crushed by her neighbor's car in Croydon, south London, after she slipped on her crutches and fell. The incident occurred when 42-year-old Elizabeth Avorga was returning home from taking her children to school. The court heard that a neighbor found Avorga's car stopped on the grass verge with Emmett's legs and crutch underneath it. Avorga is on trial for causing death by dangerous driving.
