59-year-old Brett Button, the driver involved in the Greta bus crash in June 2021 that killed 10 people, had his plea delayed for the second time in Newcastle Local Court. Button appeared charged with 89 offences, including 10 counts of manslaughter, but his solicitor, Chris O'Brien, requested another adjournment to obtain an expert report and continue negotiations with the District Public Prosecutor. The matter was not committed to Newcastle District Court, and a case conference was held on Tuesday, with hopes for Button to enter pleas when the case returns to court on May 8. Button is on bail and faces charges stemming from the bus rollover that killed 10 wedding guests and injured 25 others.
