The University of Tasmania's R.A. Rodda Museum of Pathology is under investigation for potentially retaining body parts from 147 individuals without their family's consent from coronial autopsies conducted between 1953 and 1985. The museum, which houses around 2,700 specimens representing every organ system, was established in 1966 as a teaching and research facility. The state coroner's office is conducting a formal investigation into the matter.
