UK's ASA banned Nationwide's ads featuring actor Dominic West for misleading claims about not closing branches.

Nationwide's ads featuring actor Dominic West have been banned by the UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for being misleading. The ads, featuring West as the boss of a fictional rival bank, claimed that unlike other banks, Nationwide would not be closing any branches. The ASA investigated the TV, radio, and press ads after receiving 282 complaints, including one from rival lender Santander, which believed Nationwide had indeed closed or reduced opening hours at several branches.
