25,000 spring Chinook smolts died in a fish tanker truck accident in northeast Oregon, where the truck rolled onto its roof alongside Lookingglass Creek, a tributary of the Grande Ronde River. The ODFW employee driving the truck is safe but received minor injuries. The accident occurred on a sharp corner, with 77,000 smolts released into the creek, but 25,529 did not survive.
