South African new vehicle sales fell 11.7% YoY in March, and export sales declined 27.1%.

New vehicle sales in South Africa fell for the eighth consecutive month in March, down 11.7% year-on-year, with 44,237 units sold, compared to 50,114 in March last year. Export sales also declined by 27.1%, with 8,975 units fewer exported compared to the previous year. Car manufacturers in the country are struggling with ongoing cost pressures, including rising fuel costs and interest rates, affecting consumer purchasing decisions.
