Ontario plans to invest $46M in acquiring four new police helicopters to fight car thefts and aid in searches for missing vulnerable individuals. The Ontario Provincial Police will spend $36M on the helicopters and $10M for their operation over three years. The increase in car thefts, driven by high-end vehicle demand for export to Africa and Europe, will be addressed by the air support.
