2% of Missouri's corn acreage and 1% of soy acreage planted; Iowa's oats seeding at 21%, 11 days ahead of average.
The first USDA Crop Progress report for Missouri indicates that 2% of intended corn acreage and 1% of anticipated soy acreage has been planted, while the state's wheat fields and pastures have received just above average precipitation of 1.02", benefiting 77% of wheat which is rated good to excellent. Meanwhile, in Iowa, cooler temperatures and rain/snow showers have provided much-needed moisture for farmers, leading to only 1.6 suitable days for fieldwork and oats seeding at 21% completion, 11 days ahead of both last year and the 5-year average.
