Miami Marlins acquire infielder Emmanuel Rivera from Arizona Diamondbacks, designated Jacob Amaya for assignment.
The Miami Marlins have acquired infielder Emmanuel Rivera, 27, from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for cash considerations. Rivera had a .261 batting average with four home runs and 29 RBIs in 86 games for the Diamondbacks last season. To make room for Rivera, the Marlins designated infielder Jacob Amaya for assignment. Rivera has played mostly third base and has also made appearances at first base.
