Gangster killed, probationary sub-inspector dies during shootout at Jammu and Kashmir Police investigating another gangster murder.
A gangster was killed and a probationary sub-inspector of the Jammu and Kashmir Police died after sustaining head injuries during a shootout within the premises of the Government Medical College in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. The deceased sub-inspector, Deepak Sharma, was investigating the murder of another gangster, Akshay Kumar, and had received a tip-off about members of the Shallu gang meeting near the GMC. The shootout erupted when the gangsters saw the police in plain clothes and opened fire. Sharma shot the gangster Shunnu dead but was injured and later succumbed to his injuries.
