EU investigates Chinese bidders for excessive subsidies in Romanian solar park deal.
The European Union has opened investigations into two Chinese bidders over potential excessive subsidies in their offers for a solar power park in Romania. The Commission is examining whether the Chinese firms, ENEVO Group and a subsidiary of LONGi Green Energy Technology Co, received foreign subsidies that distorted the EU single market, following EU foreign subsidies regulations. The solar park contract was worth around 375 million euros ($404 million).
