2013 audio recordings suggest former Post Office CEO Paula Vennells knew of Fujitsu's alleged ability to remotely access and alter branch accounts related to the Horizon IT system.
Former Post Office CEO Paula Vennells may have known in 2013 that a "covert operations team" at Fujitsu could remotely access and alter branch accounts, according to newly uncovered audio recordings. Vennells was informed of the allegations concerning the existence of the remote unit at Bracknell's Fujitsu headquarters two years before she appeared in Parliament. The Post Office had previously denied any miscarriages of justice related to the faulty Horizon IT system that led to the wrongful conviction of over 900 sub-postmasters.
