Lancaster County fire in Mountville Borough on March 29 was ruled accidental and caused by "careless smoking" by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal. The fatal fire led to the death of 65-year-old Robert Enochs from smoke inhalation and thermal burns. Firefighters rescued him, but the blaze also caused damage to another home. The Mountville Fire Company urged residents to ensure they have working smoke detectors in their homes.
