35-year-old former Middletown High School math teacher, James Hanson, has been arrested and charged with multiple sexual assault offenses.
Former Middletown High School math teacher, James Hanson, 35, has been arrested and charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, use of a computer to entice a minor, and risk of injury to a minor. Hanson, who taught at the school from August 2022 to November 16, 2023, was immediately placed on administrative leave when the investigation began. He turned himself in at Middletown Police Headquarters and is no longer employed by the Middletown Public Schools.
