4Q2023: South Korea's construction contracts rebounded 7.9% to 72.0 trillion won (53.3bn USD) amid low-base effect. Public contracts up 30.5% to 22.3 trillion won (16.5bn USD), private up 0.1% to 49.6 trillion won (36.7bn USD), and civil engineering up 28.1% due to industrial facility demand. Despite this, full-year 2023 contracts decreased by 18.9% to 240.6 trillion won (178.1bn USD) due to housing market slump.
