NHS introduces "artificial pancreas" device for type 1 diabetes patients in England.

The NHS is introducing an "artificial pancreas" for thousands of type 1 diabetes patients in England, starting later this month. The Hybrid Closed Loop System device will help patients manage their condition without daily insulin injections, as it automatically detects insulin levels and delivers the required dosage. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice) approved the rollout of the technology after a successful pilot with 835 participants.
