New Zealand's summer tourism season has ended on a strong note, with many operators reporting increased business and being "rushed off their feet". Although international visitor spending in 2022-2023 was $9.9bn, down from 2019, the warm weather attracted both international and domestic visitors, contributing positively to the economy. Tourism Industry Aotearoa CEO Rebecca Ingram described the summer as "buoyant".
