9 JFK Airport taxi dispatchers charged for accepting bribes to let cab drivers skip lines.

9 taxi dispatchers at JFK Airport, working for a third-party contractor, allegedly accepted $12,000 in bribes over two years to let cab drivers skip lines to pick up passengers. At least nine dispatchers have been charged, with four facing up to four years in prison. The charges come as NY's yellow taxi industry struggles with pandemic-related downturn, with only 7,200 of 13,500 licensed yellow taxis active in Jan 2022.
