Irish manufacturing shrank in March due to subdued demand in both domestic and export markets, as the AIB Ireland Manufacturing PMI fell to 49.6 from 52.2 in February. This marked the first contraction in production volumes for 2024. The survey found that both output and new orders decreased, and manufacturers reported reduced export orders and cutbacks to production schedules.
