India's Supreme Court rejects plea to halt ASI survey of disputed Bhojshala Complex site in Madhya Pradesh, orders no alterations to religious structure.

India's Supreme Court has rejected a plea by the Maulana Kamaluddin Welfare Society to halt the ongoing Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey of the disputed Bhojshala Complex site in Madhya Pradesh. The court has, however, ordered that no alterations should be made to the religious structure of the site and no actions should be taken solely based on the ASI report. The ASI survey is focused on determining whether the site is a temple or a mosque and is due to be completed within six weeks.
