Metro Vancouver Transit Police reported a 41% increase in drug overdose "saves" in 2023, with 79 naloxone-assisted revivals compared to 56 in 2022. The number of "naloxone events" has almost quadrupled since 2019, with some cases requiring multiple applications to revive the same individual. Transit Police Chief Suzanne Muir presented this data at a TransLink Board meeting in March.
