Motorists stranded after part of scenic California highway collapses in storm.

Flash floods in California's Big Sur region have resulted in a remote highway being torn apart and falling into a deep ravine. Thousands of tourists have been left stranded, some seeking refuge in nearby shelters or their vehicles. Road officials started operating convoys around the damaged road on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred 17 miles south of Monterey following heavy rainfall.
