Bullet train services were suspended in parts of eastern Japan on April 2, after an oil leak from a construction vehicle working at Fukushima Station affected operations on the Tohoku Shinkansen line between Tokyo and Sendai. The suspension was not due to an earlier earthquake. As of noon, services partially resumed between Tokyo and Fukushima, while Fukushima to Sendai services remained suspended.
