Auckland café owner Elizabeth Tangikau jailed for 2.5 years for tax evasion, filing 75 false tax returns and misappropriating $42,447.69.

Auckland café owner and mother of six, Elizabeth Juilian Tangikau, was jailed for two years and three months for tax evasion. Tangikau ran a café at the NZ Post centre in Highbrook and evaded income tax and GST obligations by filing 75 false tax returns. She also misappropriated payroll taxes, using the funds for her own benefit. As a result of her tax evasion, Tangikau received $42,447.69 in benefits she was not entitled to.
