New Zealand authorities, in collaboration with the country's Police force and Customs Service, successfully thwarted a drug trafficking operation under Operation Reach, leading to the arrest of 11 individuals, including senior members of a well-known gang. A high-risk shipment containing 50 kilograms of cocaine was intercepted at the Port of Tauranga. The suspects are facing charges for importing, conspiring, and possessing cocaine for supply, with two also facing firearm possession charges.
