Canada's S&P/TSX composite index reached a new record high on 26 April, boosted by gains in commodity prices which positively impacted the energy and mining sectors. The index increased by 18.22 points from its previous high to close at 22,185.25. The rise in commodities prices is attributed to an increase in investor confidence in the economy, while inflation remains relatively mild.
