Alberta establishes Recovery Alberta and Canadian Centre of Recovery Excellence (CoRE) for mental health and addiction services.

Alberta announces two new organizations, Recovery Alberta and the Canadian Centre of Recovery Excellence (CoRE), to focus on mental health and addiction services. Recovery Alberta will take over current AHS mental health and addiction services, while CoRE, a Crown corporation, will research best practices for addiction recovery globally and provide evidence-based recommendations for recovery-oriented systems of care. CoRE will begin operations by summer, with an initial budget of $5M.
