A "serious" overnight crash is under police investigation on the Castlereagh Highway in Central West, south of Mudgee. A car reportedly hit a tree, resulting in a 22-year-old man being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in Sydney, while a second passenger was treated at the scene. The highway is closed in both directions and ongoing police investigations are expected to take some time.
