1,000-year-old Irish oak tree felled by Storm Elin will be repurposed into whiskey casks for Preston's brand of single pot still Irish Whiskey. The ancient tree, with a 10-meter girth, stood on Swainstown Farm in County Meath. The collaboration between Meath's Boann Distillery and the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel cooperage in Kildare aims to revive traditional whiskey cask crafting in Ireland using Irish oak from the tree that stood for over 1,000 years.
