Vietnam plans to build a $72bn, 1,545 km high-speed railway network, learning from China's most developed railway industry. The government seeks to learn from China's expertise in technology, financial mobilisation, and management. Vietnam's Minister of Planning and Investment, Nguyen Chi Dung, visited China, discussing plans with Chinese officials and railway executives. Vietnam and China have signed several cooperation agreements, including on railways.
