UPS wins USPS primary air cargo contract, replacing FedEx; begins September 30, lasts 5.5 years.
UPS has won a contract to become the primary air cargo provider for the United States Postal Service (USPS) following the expiration of USPS's current contract with FedEx. The new contract with UPS will last for a minimum of five and a half years and begins on September 30. This move comes as USPS looks to reduce its overall transportation costs by $3 billion over the next two years, including $1 billion in air freight cost savings already achieved.
