Supreme Court issues notice on Senthil Balaji's bail plea in money laundering case linked to cash-for-jobs scam.

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding the bail plea of former Tamil Nadu Minister V. Senthil Balaji, who was arrested in June 2022 for a money laundering case linked to an alleged cash-for-jobs scam. A bench presided over by Justices Abhay S. Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan will examine Senthil Balaji's special leave petition and seek the ED's response within four weeks. The Madras High Court previously dismissed Balaji's bail petition.
