The S&P 500 and Nasdaq opened higher on Monday as moderating consumer prices raised hopes of an early interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.56 points at the open, while the S&P 500 opened higher by 3.62 points and the Nasdaq Composite gained 17.59 points. However, higher Treasury yields kept gains in check.
