National Vice President of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Shahid Siddiqui, has resigned from the party in protest of its alliance with the BJP, citing BJP's "concerted attacks on democratic institutions and the Constitution" as his reason. Siddiqui expressed concerns over the attack on elected Chief Ministers and opposition parties, stating that it is an attack on Indian democracy and the institutions the country has built.
