The company has faced delays in implementing the Real-Time Rail, a faster payment system that could provide near-instant 24/7 payments and bring billions of dollars in benefits, according to the C.D. Howe Institute. Payments Canada, which processed over $112 trillion in transactions last year, is founded by Parliament and funded by the industry.
