A federal trial began for North Texas doctor Raynaldo Ortiz, accused of poisoning IV bags at a surgery center, putting patients at risk. Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Center in North Dallas closed in August 2022 after unexplained emergencies involving 10 patients, with one doctor dying from taking an IV bag home. Ortiz faces 10 counts of tampering with consumer products and adulteration of a drug.
