NHAI enforces 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' policy on April 1, 2021, to enhance toll collection efficiency.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) implemented its 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' policy on April 1, 2021, to discourage using a single FASTag for multiple vehicles or linking multiple FASTags to one vehicle. This policy aims to improve the electronic toll collection system's efficiency and provide smooth movement at toll plazas. Over 8 crore users currently have FASTags, with a penetration rate of around 98%.
